#People of NEI: Sophie, brightening the city

Northeast Indiana is evolving. These are the people shaping its future. #PeopleofNEI

This week's feature:

Sophie is a student at @usffw and an artist assistant to @timparsley who is leading the work on this specific mural. She is one of the students from @usffwsoca that is helping him with finishing touches on the latest @artthiswayfw mural in the alleyway between Wayne Street and Berry Street. Art This Way is a public art program operating under the umbrella of the Downtown Improvement District. It was inspired by the late Christy Landrigan and her beautiful passion for @downtownfortwayne. Sophie will be a senior and is majoring in studio art. "I’m really proud to be a part of this project. To see how much the city loves it is awesome, too. Working with Tim Parsley is really great. Not only is he a great artist but he is a great professor, and I have learned so much. It’s amazing to work on something that is bigger than you. Without everyone working together it would be hard to achieve something like this. Public art like this is brightening the city. It enforces that positivity and enhances it. I love not only how it can speak about a community but can also speak to a community." #PeopleofNEI #ArtThisWayFW #PublicArtFW
