#PeopleofNEI: Alex, moving back to Fort Wayne

Northeast Indiana is evolving. These are the people shaping its future. #PeopleofNEI

Alex, 32, was raised in #FortWayne before living in Bloomington, New York City, Boulder, and Seoul. She recently returned to Fort Wayne and will be moving into the new Skyline Tower soon. “People here smile at you and say ‘hi’ on the street. There is a Midwest hospitality. When I’m here, I remember this and it makes me smile. In other cities, it’s easy to get lost in a crowd. In Fort Wayne, you can be part of a community. I found a great job here, and tomorrow I’m going to be interviewed on television. That would never happen in another city; I would just be part of the masses. In New York City, I wanted my own place but it wasn’t affordable. In Boulder, I had to have roommates to afford my rent. To be able to have my own apartment really is a dream come true. I’ve always wanted my own place. It’s a big deal to me. Fort Wayne is doing a really good job of having something for everyone. I can’t believe how affordable everything is from MiddleWaves to Broadway shows to TinCaps to rent to daily things. Everything has been falling into place.” #PeopleofNEI
