Josh has always wanted to find a way to give back. He is a line cook at Catablu Grille, and a wiz in the kitchen. He has been volunteering at the weekly Community Dinners at Trinity English that are serving over 75 people in the community each week. “My goal each week is to do as many veggies as possible. Those in need of meals might usually be eating fast food or pizza. I want to make something that is nutrient dense. There is always a protein in there. Tonight, it’s chicken things. We have been veggie-heavy, and I work with the local Heal Market for produce. The zucchini and green beans are all from them. I love seeing all kinds of people and ages. We want to make sure they are getting fed but it’s also great to see people bringing their families. I love that we are making people feel like they are part of something and not just receiving charity. We want it to feel like a family dinner. Food is a basic need and being able to make sure someone has dinner is important to me. Volunteering just feels right and gives me a great deal of satisfaction. I love when someone tells me it’s the best meal they have had in weeks. I just love that.” #PeopleofNEI
