Anton lives in Auburn, Indiana and is the Executive Director of the DeKalb County Economic Development Partnership, Inc. He talks about his love for Dekalb County and how his life has unfolded in northeast Indiana. “I am a country boy that grew up in a small town in Ohio. I came to northeast Indiana because of Trine University in Angola. I originally took an internship at Dekalb County Economic Development Partnership and really got ingrained in everything that we are doing from mapping to marketing. That eventually led to a full-time opportunity and then the board selected me as Executive Director in January, 2017. I have been working long and hard ever since trying to make new things happen every day. My wife is also from Ohio but we met at Trine. We have settled down and created a life in Auburn together. I love the ability to get out and be involved in Auburn. It has a little bit of everything you want. I am five minutes from everything I need here and only 15 minutes from Fort Wayne. Being able to do so much in a day is awesome. We have everything from nightlife to the brewery to the dining scene and not far from being able to kayak on the river. My wife and I continue to get to know new folks in the area and it’s been an easy transition. Being so close to Fort Wayne is great and then Auburn also has that small town feel with big city amenities. I’ve already been to two TinCaps games and it’s only April. You can’t be bored here in northeast Indiana. There’s so much to do from sports to bonfires to live music to wineries to breweries. There is a lot of lifeblood in the community and we are seeing things happening in Garrett and Butler and Waterloo, too. There is a new rebirth here and it really is county-wide. Northeast Indiana is a great place to grow a family and I look forward to whatever the future holds.” #PeopleofNEI
